On November 14, 2024, the General Director of the “Television and Radio Broadcasting Network of Armenia” CJSC, N. Adamyan, and Deputy Director, S. Davtyan, participated in the WorldDAB Summit 2024, which took place in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. This annual event brought together radio industry experts to discuss the latest developments in DAB+ technology.
During the event, discussions covered the global expansion of DAB+ technology, the role of digital radio in emergency situations, ensuring sustainability in broadcasting, and the integration of DAB+ systems into modern vehicles. One of the most significant announcements was the introduction of the Automatic Safety Alert (ASA) system, which enables the transmission of emergency alerts via DAB+ without requiring cellular or internet connectivity.
The summit also showcased successful DAB+ initiatives in various countries, including Germany, Croatia, Belgium, and England. Additionally, plans for transitioning to digital radio broadcasting in Germany, Switzerland, and Spain were discussed, along with innovations in digital content and strategies for the future development of radio.
The event featured speeches by leading industry experts, including Jacqueline Bierhorst, President of WorldDAB, who presented the key directions for the growth of DAB+ technology over the past year.
